Malta Project | Italian Minimalist Outdoor Kitchen for a Poolside Garden

Project Overview

This project is one of the most minimalist outdoor kitchens Xiaozhu has ever designed and manufactured. Located in a private villa in Malta, the outdoor kitchen was installed along the garden wall beside the swimming pool and positioned beneath a modern aluminum pergola. From the very beginning, the client pursued a clean Italian minimalist aesthetic, where every line, proportion, and surface would appear seamless and refined.

Beyond manufacturing the outdoor kitchen, our team also provided a complete 3D design proposal, helping the client visualize the final layout before production. The result is a sophisticated outdoor cooking space that blends naturally into the modern architecture while delivering professional cooking functionality.

Client Requirements

The client had very specific design expectations that went beyond standard customization.

• Match the cabinet color precisely to a physical color sample shipped from Malta.
• Create an ultra-minimalist appearance with no visible cabinet frame or unnecessary details.
• Divide the front into six perfectly symmetrical cabinet doors for visual balance.
• Give the entire cabinet a floating appearance instead of a traditional floor-standing design.
• Integrate a complete outdoor cooking station beneath the aluminum pergola while maintaining a clean architectural look.

Our Solution

To achieve the client's vision, Xiaozhu designed and manufactured a fully customized 304 stainless steel outdoor kitchen tailored specifically to the project.

The cabinet body was powder-coated in a custom light terracotta red, carefully color-matched to the sample provided by the client. A premium pure black sintered stone countertop creates a striking contrast while enhancing the modern Italian aesthetic.

The kitchen integrates a professional four-burner built-in BBQ grill, a pull-out waste bin, and dedicated pull-out storage for cooking utensils, ensuring both beauty and practicality without interrupting the minimalist appearance.

Before production, our design team created detailed 3D renderings, allowing the client to confirm every dimension, proportion, and visual detail before manufacturing began.

Project Highlights

This project demonstrates Xiaozhu's ability to transform demanding design concepts into reality through precision engineering.

The most distinctive feature is the completely handle-free design. To eliminate any visible cabinet frame, 2 mm stainless steel side panels were specially welded onto both ends of the cabinet, concealing the door edges and creating an uninterrupted front elevation.

All six cabinet doors were divided into perfectly equal proportions. Since wider doors naturally reduce structural rigidity, we redesigned the internal reinforcement structure to maintain long-term stability without affecting the minimalist appearance.

To create the desired floating effect, the entire cabinet was elevated 150 mm above the ground using concealed black steel support legs. From normal viewing angles, the supports almost disappear, giving the kitchen the appearance of floating above the floor.

The custom light terracotta finish, combined with the black sintered stone countertop, delivers a timeless Italian minimalist character that perfectly complements the surrounding pool and architectural space.

Final Result

The completed outdoor kitchen has become the visual centerpiece of the client's poolside entertainment area. Every design detail—from the custom color and seamless door lines to the floating structure—reflects the balance between architectural elegance and everyday functionality.
